What:
Kroger shopper Doris Wallace will
share the recipe that could be worth $1 million at a special event on March 10,
2012. Wallace’s Cream-Filled Strawberry-Brownie Cake beat out tens of thousands
of entries to become one of the final 100 recipes in the 45th
Pillsbury Bake Off® Contest. On March 26, Wallace will compete at the
contest finals in Orlando for a chance at the $1 million grand prize. Before
competition day, Wallace will visit her local Kroger store to meet shoppers,
hand out cards with her delicious recipe and
sample a key Pillsbury ingredient from the Cream-Filled Strawberry-Brownie
Cake.

Pillsbury Bake-Off® Contest
The Pillsbury Bake-Off® Contest
originated in 1949, with the first competition at the Waldorf Astoria in New
York City. The contest was held annually from 1949 to 1978, when it switched to
an every-other-year schedule. The $1 million grand prize was first awarded in
1996 to Kurt Wait, who was also the first man to win top honors in the contest.
The 45th Pillsbury Bake-Off® Contest finals will be held March 25-27,
2012, at The Peabody Orlando Hotel in Florida. On March 26, 100 finalists will
compete in four categories—Breakfast & Brunches, Entertaining Appetizers,
Dinner Made Easy™ and Sweet Treats—side-by-side in 100 GE mini-kitchens. Working
in secrecy behind closed doors, a panel of food experts will taste the recipes
prepared by the finalists and select the million-dollar grand prize winner. To
