THE FLASH FLOOD WATCH CONTINUES FOR

* PORTIONS OF CENTRAL ARKANSAS... NORTH CENTRAL ARKANSAS... SOUTHWEST ARKANSAS AND WESTERN ARKANSAS... INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING AREAS... IN CENTRAL ARKANSAS... CONWAY... GARLAND... PERRY... POPE AND YELL. IN NORTH CENTRAL ARKANSAS... BAXTER... BOONE... MARION... NEWTON... SEARCY AND VAN BUREN. IN SOUTHWEST ARKANSAS... PIKE. IN WESTERN ARKANSAS... JOHNSON... LOGAN... MONTGOMERY... POLK AND SCOTT.

* FROM THIS EVENING THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING

* A LARGE UPPER LEVEL STORM SYSTEM WILL SLOWLY MOVE EAST ACROSS THE SOUTHERN PLAINS THIS WEEK. WIDESPREAD HEAVY RAINS WILL AFFECT WESTERN ARKANSAS... BEGINNING TONIGHT AND CONTINUING THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT. STORM TOTAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS WILL AVERAGE THREE TO SIX INCHES... WITH LOCALLY HEAVIER AMOUNTS.

* THESE RAINFALL AMOUNTS HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO CAUSE SERIOUS FLASH FLOODING. IN ADDITION TO FLASH FLOODING... STREAMS... CREEKS AND RIVERS MAY ALSO OVER FLOW THEIR BANKS AND CAUSE WIDESPREAD AREAL FLOODING.

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION SHOULD FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS BE ISSUED.
