Businesses should have franchise tax form this week

Arkansas Secretary of State Mark Martin recently alerted businesses that they should  be receiving a franchise tax form.

“Any corporation, limited liability company, partnership or other business that has not received forms by e-mail or by regular mail should request one from my office,” Martin said.

If a business has not received the forms, either by mail or electronically,  this week, that business must request, download or file an online franchise tax form. This must be done in order to comply with the May 1 franchise tax deadline.

“More and more businesses choose to file their franchise taxes online,” Martin said. “We’ve sent filing forms over the past quarter, both by e-mail and by mail last week.  If anyone has not received their form, we want them to contact us to get one.”

Forms may be requested in writing by e-mailing corprequest@sos.arkansas.gov or by writing Business & Commercial Services, State Capitol Room 256, Little Rock, AR 72201.

Forms are accessible online at www.sos.arkansas.gov.  Many forms are also available from commercial tax preparation companies.
