At the Hot Springs Jazz Fest

Pictured are performers Fadette Johnson, Ken Goodman, Shirley Chauvin (M.C.), Ron Hall, Dona Lorraine and Kacey Glasse.

Vocal-rama   Six vocalists bring new life and energy to the stage of the Crystal Ballroom accompanied by the Clyde Pound Trio. The Society’s newest addition, Vocal-ramais designed after the recently successful Piano-rama during the 2011 JazzFest.   It is unusual and exciting to have this many jazz singers in one location and to hear all the different styles of music jazz has to offer in just the vocals alone.  In a single evening, each performer will be spotlighted on stage featuring fresh arrangements of jazz standards, broadway and movie themes.   Performers include Fadette Johnson, Ken Goodman, Shirley Chauvin (M.C.), Ron Hall, Dona Lorraine and Kacey Glasse.

Board member and professional photographer Bob Dion will be on hand to take photos for the Jazz Society archives.  A special cd recording of the 2011 JazzFest’s Piano-rama by sound tech Brent Frazier of Big Event Music and mastered by Clyde Pound will be available for purchase.

The program will be presented at the Arlington Resort Hotel & Spa’s Crystal Ballroom on April 6, and will begin at 7 p.m.  Tickets are $25 pre-sale or $35 at the door. For more information and tickets call the Hot Springs Jazz Society (501) 627-2425 and be sure to check our website hotspringsjazzfest.org.
