200 Northwest 4th Street

WHO: Leslie Harris, 29, was diagnosed with acute leukemia on September 21, 2011, the same day her son was born. Doctors performed an immediate bone marrow biopsy and found that 80 to 90 percent of her bone marrow was cancerous and the cancer was also in her blood. Currently, Leslie has started her second round of chemotherapy and has endured a very long couple of months of sickness, surgery and pain. Doctors tell Leslie she only has six months to a year to live without a transplant, but she is hoping to spend every moment fighting for her life and her son.
DETAILS: To be a bone marrow donor you must be between the ages of 18 and 55, weigh more than 110 pounds and be in good general health. If those attending decide to be tested, they will be put on the National-Donor list and can be contacted through the age of 61. For more information, please call Lauren Lucas at (501) 773-‐4580 or Nancy Lafferty at (501) 590-‐8064.
