Helping out Branson

News from Eureka Springs
Special Edition

As everyone knows, our neighbors in Branson were hit by a tornado on Wednesday, February 29th.   Because of our close proximity, we share many visitors with Branson eachBranson Tornado year and have many friends there.   We want to take a moment to let you know what you can do to help out.

If you had plans to visit Branson, you can view a list of businesses affected by the tornado at
www.ExploreBranson.com.  The majority of the businesses were not affected.

If you would like to volunteer your time, AmeriCorps is coordinating the efforts. You can stop by the Branson Chamber of Commerce, call 417-243-2144 or register online at  www.volunteerbranson.org

Donations are being accepted at the RecPlex.  The following items are needed: prepackaged drinks and snacks such as granola bars, bottled water and juice. No homemade food can be accepted. Other items needed include work gloves, heavy-duty trash bags, baby diapers and new toys and games for children.

A Salvation Army mobile feeding unit, or canteen, is also in place.   The canteen is equipped with enough meals, snacks and drinks to serve nearly 500 individuals.  The canteen service is available to anyone in need. Also available at the mobile feeding unit is spiritual & emotional care from trained Emergency Disaster Service workers.   For more info is on their Facebook Page.
