Heifer International announced today that Elizabeth Bintliff has been named Vice
President of the organization’s Africa Area Program.
A native of Cameroon, Bintliff
joined Heifer in 2000 as the regional assistant in Atlanta, before moving to
Little Rock. Prior to her appointment as Vice President, she was a regional
director in the Africa program. As Vice President, she leads programmatic
aspects of Heifer International’s work in Africa, managing a portfolio of over
$10 million in 12 countries and has led important planning in support of the
East Africa Dairy Development (EADD) project.
She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in
International Affairs from Kennesaw State University in Georgia, and has a
Masters in African Studies from Yale University. She studied Swahili as a
Fulbright Scholar in Zanzibar and worked with GlobalLearn International in South
Africa, Kenya and Tanzania. She started her career at the Carter Presidential
Center in Atlanta, GA.
Bintliff also holds a Master’s
Certificate in Non-Profit Management from the University of Arkansas at Little
Rock and is a graduate of Leadership Arkansas, a program of the Arkansas Chamber
of Commerce.
She has represented Heifer
International on several local and national media appearances including ABC’s
World News Tonight in 2008 and The Colbert Report in 2009. In 2010 she was
selected as “40 Under 40” by the Arkansas Business Chronicle. She was the 2011
Chair of Power of the Purse, a program of the Women’s Foundation of Arkansas,
which promotes women in philanthropy and the empowerment of young
girls.
Bintliff received the “Crowning
Achievers’ award by the NW Arkansas Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha in 2011. She is
currently serving on the Board of Directors of the Arkansas Food Bank and is
also a member of the Arkansas Women’s Leadership Forum, a network of female
executives.
