Friday, March 16th from 12:30-2pm in Dumas,
AR (approx. 80 miles southeast of LR)
We’ve just learned
that the 3rd graders at Reed Elementary in Dumas have been learning
about and raising money for Heifer this year. One of the teachers writes,
“The
kids have learned so much about global hunger, compassion, and sustainability.
Plus, they've read a lot! It's been great!” On Friday, March 16,
they are having a “Reed-to-Feed Celebration” for which they would like a
representative from Heifer to attend. They have lined up one of the Little Rock
Nine, Terrence Roberts, to be their guest speaker for the program. They would
like Heifer to be present to receive a cardboard check representing the money
they’ve raised (they are still collecting but they expect between $3-4k!) and to
talk for a few minutes about how the donation will be used (Heifer’s work) and
to thank the kids (and the community) for their effort.
