Upon arrival, officers made contact with an Andria Gray, Ms.Gray stated that her husband, Robert Gray, had been drinking and the two got into an argument. Ms. Gray stated that she was attempting to leave with her sister and brother-in-law, but her husband allegedly would not allow her to leave. An officer made contact with the brother-in-law and he stated that while he was trying to assist Ms. Gray, the husband had allegedly gotten physical with him. Three officers made contact with Mr.Gray. He was allegedly unsteady on his feet, he had bloodshot watery eyes, and the smell of Intoxicants about his person.
According to officers, Mr. Gray was extremely evasive when asked what happened, and all he would say was that his brother-in -law had tried to assault him. When asked who his brother-in-law was and he stated he didn't know. He then allegedly got an attitude with the officers and acted like the situation was the officers' fault.
An officer was in the middle of telling Gray to calm down the attitude when Gray screamed "LOOK HERE" and advanced toward the officer extending his finger to the officer's face. The officer grabbed his hand and removed it from his face then pushed the officer and drew his fist back as to strike the officer.
Three officers took Gray to the ground. After they got him on the ground Gray began to fight and he grabbed an officer's arm in order to take back control. One officer felt a sharp pain on his right bicep as Gray squeezed down. Gray was eventually over powered and cuffed. Gray was placed in the back of a squad car unit and transported to the Garland County Sheriff's Office.
Upon arrival, officers were standing at the booking counter with Gray. Gray then began saying that he was "going to take care of me" because he knew Larry Sanders and the officer "would be out of a job tomorrow". The officer told him he didn't care who he knew. Gray then got in the officer's face very aggressively. According to the officer, Gray was so close that he could have easily have head butted the officer. The officer grabbed Gray and took him back to the wall and explained to him that he was not going to be aggressive toward the officer again or we would have a problem. After that the officer completed his paperwork with no further incident. After completing the paper work, the officer continued to feel a sharp pain on my bicep.
The officer rolled up his sleeve and discovered a large bruise with broken skin in the center. Another officer photographed the bruise with his cell phone. Mr. Gray was charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct and battery in the third degree.
