Be aware of nocturnal animals out and about during daytime hours

After a bat recently found near Millcreek Road in Garland County tested positive for rabies by the state lab on Monday, Animal Services Director Dan Bugg cautions area residents not to handle bats they find on the ground or to approach bats that are active during the day.

Bats and skunks are nocturnal animals.  Daytime activity by these animals is a reason to be cautious and contact local authorities.  For information, call Animal Services, 262-2091.
