In light of the extremely dry conditions Arkansas has experienced in the past
few months, the Property Owners’ Association golf department is working hard
to conserve water and to keep turf alive on all of the HSV golf
courses.
There are many places on the golf courses where sprinklers do
not reach. Because of this, those areas will go dormant. With
prolonged extreme weather conditions, some areas may have to be
renovated.
The golf department requests golfers observe some simple conservation acts to
help maintain the courses.
Some courses are more critical than others.
For this reason, the golf department is rotating holes onto which golfers can
drive to help preserve the turf.
Golfers can help with this important
task by limiting the number of carts in a group to a minimum and by not
driving carts on “wear zones” and brown areas.
Please stay on the cart
path unless it is necessary to leave it. Driving only on the cart paths will
help preserve turf.
Because of the high fire danger, the Golf Department
requests golfers refrain from tossing lit cigarettes onto the turf, which
could easily cause a fire.
