Central Arkansas Development Council Glenwood Senior Activity Center will host a Beans and Cornbread Dinner & Auction July 27 beginning at 5 p.m. The general public is invited to attend.
The event will include a beans and cornbread dinner with all the trimmings, dessert and a drink for $5. Auctioneer Craig Afled will open live auction bidding at 6 p.m. on items that will include a New Handcrafted 4-Foot Porch Swing; Gallery Treasures 50-State Gold Coin Quarter Collection (Bear Collection Years 1999-2006); Gallery Treasures Presidential Coin Bear Collection; Limited Treasures Coin Bears in Jewel Case; 11 Special Edition Barbie Dolls in Original Boxes; New Bullet Express (The Amazing 8-Minute Meal Machine); New Nu-Wave Infrared Oven; Diamond Ring; Antique Double Strand Pearl Necklace; George Foreman Grill; Beautiful Duck House Heirloom Dolls and a Pristine Collection of Porcelain Dolls. More items will be available the day of the event. All proceeds from the event will support the meals for seniors program at the center.
The Glenwood Senior Activity Center is located at 229 Betty Street. The program gives older adults support and encouragement to reach new levels of independence, fostering educational and emotional wellness for persons 60 and older. Activities include exercise, social interaction, nutrition, transportation services, recreational events, book clubs, computer training, and more.
