Senator Mark Pryor made the following statement on the death of Sergeant
Jamar A. Hicks of Little Rock, Arkansas. Sergeant Hicks was assigned to
Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 4th Battalion, 320th Field Artillery
Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
It’s with a heavy heart that we honor the life of a fallen America hero, Sergeant Jamar A. Hicks, who was killed while serving our nation in Afghanistan. I join all Arkansans in sending our deepest condolences and prayers to his family and loved ones. We will be forever grateful for his sacrifice and service.

Beginning today, Arkansas flags at the State Capitol will be flown at half-staff
until sundown on Thursday, August 15, to honor United States Army Sergeant
Jamar Hicks of Little Rock. Under Act 1182 of 2011, Arkansas flags may be flown
at half-staff at any Arkansas public building for up to three days after
notification of a fallen service member. There is no longer a requirement to
wait for official notice before lowering the flag..
