Scam warning from Village police

The Hot Springs Village police department is asking citizens to be alert for a new scam in which the recipient receives a telephone call or e-mail advising them they are entitled to a new Medicare or other health insurance card. This scam is sure to increase with the upcoming changes in the health care system. This is may be an attempt to obtain your social security number.  Please be very cautious in providing your personal information to anyone.

Also, the HSVPD has seen an increase in reports of mail being taken from residential mailboxes. You are strongly encouraged to mail important documents that may contain personal information at a mail box drop box or the post office.
