National Park Community College's Marilyn Ridge adds to education

Marilyn Ridge, Coordinator of CareerLink, National Park Community College’s virtual career center, has earned the Certified Professional Resume Writer designation from the Professional Association of Resume Writers and Career Coaches. Certified Professional Resume Writers are the career industry's leading experts in the development of strategic resumes. The purpose of the resume is to secure a personal interview from among the dozens or hundreds of applicants for a given position and CPRWs have demonstrated their knowledge, talent, and writing expertise in meeting the industry standard of excellence.

The NPCC Career Center provides a variety of services to students, alumni, and the community. Employment listings and opportunities for on-campus interviews with area employers are posted to CareerLink, NPCC’s virtual career center.

Community events sponsored by the Career Center include Career Day, Job Fairs, and Volunteer Day. Service Learning activities to enhance educational majors and provide assistance to community organizations are coordinated through the Center. The Career Center also serves as a location for student surveys, enrollment applications, and self-registration. The NPCC Career Center is a member of NACE (National Association of Colleges and Employers) and administers the campus Perkins Grant for Career and Technical Education.

The NPCC Career Center is located on the second floor of the Fisher Building/Campus Center on the NPCC campus.

In addition to coordinating CareerLink, Ms. Ridge will be instructing a non-credit class this fall for Continuing Education entitled Resume Rescue. This class will take the mystery out of resume writing and give the student the skills to write a powerful resume for any type job. For more information about this class, call 501.760.4223.
