Guided kayaking adventures on Lake Ouachita

Lake Ouachita’s immense size and pristine shorelines offer breathtaking scenery that is unparalleled in the state. Kayaking is a unique way to explore Arkansas’s largest lake. Lake Ouachita State Park is now taking reservations for our spring Kayak Campout Adventures. The dates for these overnight camping trips are May 5th to 6th and May 19th to 20th. The adventures are designed for everyone regardless of kayaking experience. You can bring your own kayak and camping gear or rent what you need from us. A support boat with a restroom will be available to assist with our gear. It will stay with us throughout the trip. The park will provide lunch and dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday. Our group will paddle approximately five hours each day at a comfortable pace with plenty of breaks. Park interpreters will demonstrate such skills as choosing a campsite, building a fire, setting up camp, cooking in the great outdoors and much more. After setting up camp on one of Lake Ouachita’s numerous islands, we will take a sunset barge cruise and enjoy evening programs by the park interpreters. The cost is $85 per person. Kayak rentals are available for $40 and camping gear for $15. Space is limited, so reserve your spot right away. To register for this event, or for more information, please contact Susan Adkins at Lake Ouachita State Park at 501-767-9366.
