Hot Springs Memorial Field, Springs Metro Partnership and the Arkansas Economic
Development Commission will host Hot Springs Aerospace Day from 10 a.m. until 4
p.m. on Saturday, April 28 at the airport. Admission and on-site parking is
free.
The family-friendly event will highlight the current availability of well-paying local jobs in the aerospace industry. Those wanting to change careers, as well as graduating high school students who are considering career options, are encouraged to attend.

“The aerospace
industry has now outpaced the rice industry as Arkansas’ number one export,”
Airport Director George Downie said. “This event will be a great opportunity to
gather job information, and at the same time provide educational and
entertaining activities for the whole family.”
Tours of AAR will
be offered during the event. AAR provides major maintenance inspections, line
maintenance, aircraft modifications and upgrades to the world’s major regional
and cargo airline fleets, and for U.S. military and government agencies. AAR’s
services include aircraft inspection and repair; major airframe modifications;
avionic service and installation; structural repair; exterior and interior
refurbishment; and engineering service and support. AAR maintains facilities in
Miami, FL; Indianapolis, IN: Oklahoma City, OK; and at Hot Springs Memorial
Field.
Main attractions
include the display of two World War II vintage aircraft, the Mitchell B-25
Bomber and the TBM Avenger. Private rides will be offered on the two warbirds
for a fee, and credit cards will be accepted. Other aircraft will be on static
display. The event will also feature booths by military recruiters, and a
