At
approximately 9:45 a.m.m April 23, the Garland County Sheriff's Office received a call of a drowning on Lake
Ouachita, at the house boat docks near Brady Mountain Resort.
On arrival, deputies learned that 91 year old
Alzheimer patient, Berghea Gartrell of Mabelvale, AR, had possibly walked off of
the dock at some point during the night and was found deceased, floating in one
of the boat slips. Mrs. Gartrell was last seen by her son at approximately 2:00
a.m. April 23.
There were no signs of trauma and no foul play is
suspected.
