Village resident
Nancy Todd recently won the Evening Lions bingo jackpot of $700 plus a $200
bonus prize sponsored by Keystone Realty. Altogether, Todd won $900.
Todd competed with
108 patrons at Lions Bingo. She won the “coverall” contest.
Todd said most of
her prize money “will be spent on furnishings for a Balboa Lake home,” her
family moved to this month, from another home in the Village”
She
has played bingo in many of the oil-producing regions of the world, when her
family was stationed there as part of her husband’s work
assignment.
Todd was accompanied
to Lions Bingo with her bingo buddy, Terri Huffman, also from an oil-company
family. Together, they have been bingo players in numerous foreign countries.
Todd won the
coverall jackpot when she covered one bingo game face containing 24 numbers,
after the game caller had called the last of 61 allotted numbers.
A
bingo ‘coverall’ jackpot is based on results of the evening's final game. To
win, a player must cover every number on one of three game faces on his or her
game card.
Lions Bingo chair,
Tom Hubert, said Lions Friday evening bingo at the Coronado Center is a lot of
fun, with winners every session.
"Our minimum payout
each evening is $930, and we have about two jackpot winners every year, Hubert
said.
“We
are here the first and third Friday evenings most months, ready to play at 7
p.m.,” said Hubert.
In
addition to the coverall jackpot, games include regular bingo, small and large
diamond bingo, crazy arrow bingo and other variations.
