National Park Medical Center will host a free COPD “Lunch & Learn” on Tuesday, September 4th, beginning at 11:30 am in the NPMC Fordyce Room located on the first floor of the Ouachita Professional Building at 1900 Malvern Avenue. The guest speaker will be Pulmonary and Critical Care physician, Dr. Siddharth Shah. A light lunch will be provided by Compleat Rehab.
COPD (which stands for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) is a serious and potentially fatal lung disease that makes it difficult to breathe, and is currently the third leading cause of death in the United States. Often times, individuals with COPD exhibit symptoms of shortness of breath, wheezing, inability to breathe deeply, or “smoker’s cough”. Dr. Siddharth Shah will discuss causes and implications of COPD, as well as some of the effective treatments and new technologies that are available to treat the disease.
Compleat Rehab will also be on hand with information about their COPD rehabilitative therapy program.
If you or a loved one has been experiencing symptoms of COPD or if you would simply like to learn more about the disease and treatment options available, please join us for this luncheon. The event is free, but seating is limited and registration is required. Call 620-1402 to register today.
