Davis badly injured in automobile accident

This is a tough one to write since Terrie Davis and I are friends.

Terrie Davis, daughter of television's Annie Oakley from 1954 to 1957, Gail Davis, made a very bad decision last Friday night, August 10, she got behind the wheel of a car after having drinks at Last Chance in the Village.

Terrie was involved in a one car accident. According to the Hot Springs Village police report: "Last Friday night, a 60-year old Village woman was pinned in her car after running off Balboa Road and flipping the car before it came to rest on the passenger side. The woman had to be extricated using the jaws of life, then was transported to the hospital. The officer smelled alcohol on the woman as she was being placed in the ambulance, and the paramedic told the officer at the hospital that she admitted to drinking Scotch that night. The woman was issued a citation for careless and prohibited driving and based on the results of a blood test, may face additional charges. Her car was totaled in the accident."

One very bad decision nearly cost her life. Terrie suffered a broken pelvis, arm, collarbone and hand. She will be in St. Joe's for a while.

Before moving to the Village Terrie was the stage manager for the PBS favorite, Barney and Friends. She has over 25 years in television production. Since moving to the Village Terrie has been active in several Village Players' productions. She is also a real estate agent with ReMax on Highway 7.

My thoughts and prayers are with Terrie as she recuperates from her accident.

  1. What happened to Terrie Davis should serve as a lesson to all of us. If we know that we would be driving after a party, we should not be drinking alcohol excessively. How is she now?

  2. Be mature enough and make wise decisions. It’s not hard to follow simple laws, such as “Don’t drink and drive”. If you value your life, you must follow the law to the letter. Anyway, I hope this incident be an example for everybody out there. Not everyone is given a second chance, so don’t be reckless.

  3. It was sad to hear about the accident and the injuries she got from it. It must have been even more terrible given that her car was totaled. Nevertheless, I know everyone was glad she was safe. It would be a great disadvantage for the television industry to lose one of its pillars. People need to take drunk driving out of their habit. I know we have the awareness, what we lack is commitment. Will she be able to drive again?

  4. More than any other concerns, the life of an individual is the priority when you talk about accidents. No matter how bad the damage is to their cars, what matters is his safety. You cannot bring back the life of an individual once it’s lost, unlike material things that you can simply replace after a while.
