If you view the work
session on YouTube you will notice it is not a complete airing of the meeting
held May 2, 2012 at The Woodlands. Approximately 30 to 45 minutes of the
meeting was edited and withheld from the Property Owners of Hot Springs Village
and the general public.. Why did the board make a conscious decision to edit
the video and audio of the meeting? Why is it misrepresented on their web site
as a complete representation of Wednesday's planning session, when it clearly is
not?
Many property owners
and employees went to the microphone and expressed their grievances to the board
and called into question their policies, procedures, and in some cases their
integrity. It was the first sign of an informed public demanding answers I have
seen since moving to Hot Springs Village five years ago. The room was
overflowing with as many as 30 to 40 people standing throughout the meeting due
to inadequate seating.
It gave me hope this
board and its department heads just might be held accountable to the property
owners for a change. If you weren't able to attend the meeting, I guess the
board prefers to keep you in the dark about such matters. You should call,
e-mail, or write a letter to your board and find out why you don't deserve to
know the contents of the planning session. I did.
