Georgia Putnam asking for Heifer volunteers

Heifer Village needs more volunteers for Riverfest’s International Village in the newly expanded and FREE Family Zone. See below for more information and if you are interested in helping out, please contact Heifer Village’s volunteer manager, Georgia Putnam, directly at 501-907-2613 or Georgia.Putnam@heifer.org as soon as possible. Thanks!

Riverfest is just around the corner and we are getting organized for it. This is going to be a great big event and awesome opportunity for Heifer to share about our mission and work. We really need all volunteers who are available to help out at the NEW International Village hosted by Heifer and the Clinton Foundation.

The volunteer shifts are:

Friday, May 25 – Student Day
8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Saturday, May 26
8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

It is sure to be a super busy day and we will have a break area for you to get a snack and rest your feet. We don’t know all the details yet, but please sign up now if you can help out.

Thanks so much!

Here’s what we know about the event so far:

This year, the International Village at Riverfest is expanding to become part of a new free Family Zone. The Family Zone will be free to the public and not within the gated portion of Riverfest. Located on the Heifer Headquarters and Clinton Center grounds, the International Village is being offered in partnership with Riverfest, Heifer International and the Clinton Foundation.

The International Village will educate festival-goers about different cultures and ethnicities through arts and music. The theme of International Village is “Festivals of the World,” highlighting Brazil, Germany, the United States, Japan, Spain. The International Village will include the Family Stage, the Great Arkansas Talent Search, interactive activities and much more.

The International Village activities will kick-off with a Student Day Friday, May 25 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. hosted by the Clinton Foundation and Heifer International. Schools from across the state will be invited to participate in a cultural fair with educational projects focusing on the theme. School groups will also receive free admission to the Clinton Presidential Center and tours of Heifer Village.

The International Village will be open Saturday, May 26, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. and on Sunday, May 27, from 1-5 p.m.
