HSTV-15, Hot Springs’ government access channel on Resort Television Cable, will
move to Channel 12 as of June 1, with a new look and a new logo.
Currently,
Channels 15 and 12 are carrying the same programming, to help accustom viewers
to the upcoming channel change. On June 1, HSTV-15 will go dark, and
city12 will become the city’s new government access TV channel.
The channel
change is in response to Resort TV Cable’s request for additional access to the
bandwidth spectrum on Channel 15 to meet the growing needs of its high-speed
Internet customer base. “It’s a win-win for the city and for Resort TV Cable,”
said Public Information Director Terry Payne. “Channel 12 is a great channel,
market-wise, for the city and its viewers.”
City12
carries Hot Springs Board of Directors live broadcasts and replays; local
news briefs; information on city officials, staff, facilities, events, programs
and activities; and a 24/7 bulletin board. To e-subscribe to the city12
weekly broadcast schedule, visit cityhs.net under the Services tab. For
information, call 321-6806.
