Scott Randal fires two for insubordination and conduct unbecoming

Hot Springs Village general manager Scott Randall fired to POA employees for "insubordination and conduct unbecoming a POA employee." He said the two "repeated unsubstantiated, ville, repugnant comments."

Randall added, "these two employees are being dealt with swiftly and severely, both employees have been terminated from their employment with the POA."

The two allegedly criticized general manager Scott Randall, POA president Jerry Kosoglow, director of recreation and club services Stephanie Stone and director of golf, John Paul.

  1. Friends and Fellow Villagers,

Please be advised that I was terminated this morning with an announcement by Mr. Scott Randall, General Manager of HSVPOA, on radio station KVRE . I was given a written notice delivered by Mr. Layne Waggoner (sp) AFTER the announcement was made on the radio. I was terminated for expressing my concerns at the May 2nd meeting, and evidently my email preceding that meeting

As I said at the May 2nd meeting and as reported in the Voice newspaper, quote ,"From Jimmy Carpenter: I'm fed up with the current management and self-serving decisions. People are afraid to speak up for fear of losing their jobs...." unquote. I will stand by my statements that I made at the meeting. Evidently, I know of what I speak.

So much for freedom of speech in the the good old USA and particularly the Village! As usual, let's keep all the s...t under the carpet so that no one will know what is really going on. This is typical of any management when they are exposed - Get rid of the problem when you can't take the heat. I can honestly say that this was not totally unexpected, given the quality of management that we have. Hopefully, you are not satisfied with his decision!!

We will be out of town for the Wednesday meeting, but perhaps someone, or many, would like to question the Board as to how people are to express their concerns and present facts. As far as I am concerned, this is not the end. I will pursue further action.

You will be told that I was insubordinate and did not represent HSVPOA in the proper light. This could be construed as such, but the fact remains that I tried for a month to have a private executive session meeting with the Board, but Mr. Kosoglow refused me that opportunity. His denial left me only two options (1) drop it or (2) go public at a Board meeting. Because I believe in and have certain principles, I chose to take a stand and speak up. If you recall from an email preceding the May 2nd meeting, I apologized for having to bring this forward in public. I will never apologize for what I have done because it was in the best interest of the property owners and employees of HSVPOA. IF LOOSING A JOB IS THE PRICE TO PAY FOR FREEDOM OF SPEECH, IT PALES IN ANY COMPARISON TO THOSE THAT HAVE DIED FOR IT.

The good thing about speaking out is that you can not be terminated from being a concerned property owner!!! Please email this to others if you choose to do so.
