Black bear news worth repeating

The Hot Springs Village Property Owners’ Association department of public safety reminds residents that it is the time of year when black bears may be sighted.

For this reason, residents should treat bears and all wild animals with caution. Do not approach them for any reason, and most importantly, do not feed or leave food out for the animals.

Lt. Middleton, POA Department of Public Safety officer, stated most black bears are simply passing through the area foraging for a meal. However, if frequent sightings are reported, the Department of Public Safety will contact the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission about relocating the animal.

To report a black bear sighting, please call (501) 922-0011.
