Hot Springs accepting applications for volunteer advisory group

The City of Hot Springs will accept applications until Friday, February 24 from qualified electors of the City of Hot Springs for volunteer positions on the following city advisory boards and commissions:

Civil Service Commission, 1 opening - The five-member commission performs various personnel related functions related to the city's fire and police departments, including administration of hiring and promotional testing.

Historic District Commission, 1 opening – The five-member commission oversees historic district rules and regulations. The applicant must be an owner of real property, or an officer or stockholder of an owner of real property, or a business owner, officer or stockholder of businesses within the Pleasant Street Historic District.

Community Development Advisory Committee (CDAC), 1 opening, City Board District 2 – The five-member committee evaluates and establishes operating policies and procedures for the Community Development Block Grant Program; aids in developing the Annual Action Plan; and selects projects and programs to be considered and approved by the Board of Directors.

City board and commission members are appointed by the Hot Springs Board of Directors. Applications are available online at www.cityhs.net, by fax on request, or in the city clerk’s office at City Hall, 133 Convention Boulevard. For information, call 321-6805.
