The Hot Springs Village Republican Club is continuing a series of meetings designed to acquaint Village residents with candidates for election in 2012.
Beth-Anne Rankin, candidate for Congress, Dennis Milligan, candidate for Saline County Circuit Clerk, and Judge Jake Looney, a candidate for election to the Arkansas Court of Appeals, will address the group on Tuesday, February 21st at 5:30 pm at the Ponce De Leon Center in the Ouachita Bldg. Room B.
Rankin believes the National Debt is a critical issue. “The pattern of reckless spending by the Federal Government is putting our nation on the road to bankruptcy and is threatening our national security,” she says. “The National Debt is $15.2 trillion and growing. We are literally passing the buck to a future generation of Americans who will get stuck with the bill for this out-of-control spending,” Rankin said recently.
In 2010, Dennis Milligan was elected Saline County Circuit Clerk –a position held by democrats for decades. He is seeking a second term and will speak on issues of concern to HSV residents.
Judge Looney is in his second term as Circuit Judge. Previously, he taught law for twenty years at the University of Arkansas School of Law in Fayetteville where he served for eight years as Dean of the School of Law.
"The HSV Republicans are pleased to provide this opportunity for Villagers to learn about the issues and the candidates,” says Larry Griffin, Chairman of the Republican Club. “We hope Village residents will take advantage of getting to know these candidates."
