Feb. 12 winter weather advisory from the National Weather Service

Waking up to 19 degrees this morning makes believing snow is on the way for tomorrow a little more real. Stay home in the morning tomorrow if you don't have to drive. Check with appointments to make sure they are still happening before you leave the house.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM TO 6 PM CST MONDAY.

* TIMING... SLEET AND SNOW WILL BEGIN AFTER MIDNIGHT TONIGHT ACROSS WEST CENTRAL ARKANSAS... AND AFTER SUNRISE ACROSS CENTRAL AND EASTERN ARKANSAS. AS WARMER TEMPERATURES ABOVE THE SURFACE MOVE NORTH... THE SNOW AND SLEET WILL MIX WITH FREEZING RAIN BY MID DAY... AND CONTINUE THROUGH THE AFTERNOON HOURS. THE PRECIPITATION WILL BEGIN TO TAPER OFF IN THE EVENING... WITH DRIZZLE OR FREEZING DRIZZLE POSSIBLE MONDAY NIGHT.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS... TWO TO FOUR INCHES OF SNOW AND SLEET ARE EXPECTED IN AREAS NORTH OF MARSHALL TO BATESVILLE LINE... BEFORE PRECIPITATION MIXES WITH FREEZING RAIN. ONE TO TWO INCHES OF SNOW AND SLEET ARE POSSIBLE SOUTH OF THIS AREA... AND NORTH OF A MURFREESBORO... TO LITTLE ROCK... TO AUGUSTA LINE.

* ICE ACCUMULATIONS... ICE ACCUMULATIONS OF UP TO ONE TENTH OF AN INCH ARE POSSIBLE... ALTHOUGH JUST A FEW HUNDREDTHS WILL BE MORE COMMON.

* IMPACT... TRAVEL CONDITIONS WILL BE TREACHEROUS STARTING LATE TONIGHT AND CONTINUING INTO MONDAY... AS ROADWAYS BECOME ICE AND SNOW COVERED.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW... SLEET... OR FREEZING RAIN WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SLIPPERY ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES... AND USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING.
