Habitat for Humanity of Saline County Position: ReStore Donation Pickup Driver/Receiving Clerk
Accountable To: ReStore Manager
Description: Works in Habitat for Humanity ReStore, responsible for picking up and receiving donations.
Responsibilities:
Schedule pickups
Return donor calls
Organize pick-ups by location/area
Screen items according to donation guidelines
Be polite and make referrals if unable to accept donations
Communicate with other personnel regarding nature of donations
Provide written receipts to donors and ReStore of all donations
Drive ReStore or own vehicle to pick up donated goods
Load and unload donated goods
Maintain truck usage log books
Perform minor maintenance on ReStore vehicles (oil change, airing tires
Assist other workers as able
Be aware of ReStore policies and volunteer guidelines
Assist with unloading of items donated
Assist customers with loading of purchased items (assure they have paid
Price new merchandise according to pricing guidelines
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Must be 21, have good driving record, and proof of insurance.
Must have driving test approved by store manager.
Must be willing to undergo and successfully pass drug screenings.
Understand the Habitat for Humanity philosophy and have the desire to promote it.
Effective interpersonal and organizational skills
Effective communication skills both written and oral.
Ability to provide direction in a positive and affirming manner.
Ability to lift or move objects weighing 100 pounds
Ability to spend majority of the day standing or moving about the store
Ability to squat, bend and climb in and out of truck
This position pays $9.50/hr, with a work schedule of 30-40 hrs per week, depending on the work load. This position is expected to work on Saturdays, but will have Sundays and one other day per week off (unpaid.) We will reimburse for medical insurance up to $250, and for cell phone up to $50.
