You’ve asked for it and we’re trying it out. The Coronado Community Center is hosting a movie night once a month for Hot Springs Village property owners and guests.
This pilot program began in January with a showing of the classic comedy Funny Girl on a Friday night. The next two movie nights are scheduled for Thursday, February 23 and Tuesday, March 13.
Doors open at 4:15 p.m. with the movie starting at 5:00 p.m. Due to legal constraints, the titles of the movies cannot be advertised in general releases, but please give us a call at the Coronado Community Center and we’ll let you know all about our next two classic comedies (922-5050). Movie titles are printed on fliers available at the Ponce de Leon Center and the Coronado Community Center.
In addition to a fantastic movie, the Coronado Community Center is also offering movie theater refreshments, including hot dogs, popcorn, candy and drinks. The Coronado Community Center is also offering bar specials.
At each movie night, a survey is being taken of participants to determine the best night, the next movie and types of refreshments desired.
Mark your calendar and join us to make these successful events.
The movies are The Pink Panther on Feb. 23 and Some Like It Hot on March 13. The only legal constraint I can think of is not paying the copyright owner their fee. If that is the case, the POA is stealing from someone for your entertainment. I have two children that have composed copyrighted music and one child that has copyrighted computer programs and computer generated art. If someone used their creations without paying the copyright fee I would kick some butt. I for one will not support this demented effort by the POA to steal from the two film's copyright owners.
