Splash of Glass: The Art Glass of
James Hayes
Now through September
30
From
now through September 30, Garvan Woodland Gardens will sparkle with the
unique art glass creations of James Hayes splashed across the 210-acre peninsula
on the shores of Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Hayes, a Pine Bluff
native, has created approximately 225 pieces of multi-colored art glass
exclusively for Garvan Woodland Gardens in a myriad of shapes and styles to
amaze and delight visitors to the Gardens. The exhibit will reside in thirteen
areas in the Gardens, with glass creations depicting flowers, onions, mushrooms,
and vines as well as some of James Hayes’ traditional bowls and chandeliers
installed in fanciful settings throughout the beautiful woodlands.
The
GardenShop at Garvan Woodland Gardens is offering an extensive line of
affordable glass art garden and home ornaments from ColoriScapes by Vis Art,
Kitras, G.W. Schleidt (German Glass), and Dynasty Gallery.
Hayes works
are available in downtown Hot Springs exclusively through Gallery Central,
501-318-4278. A portion of the sales of all Hayes works from May-September will
benefit Garvan Woodland Gardens. Several of the exhibit pieces are still
available for sponsorship, and the sponsor takes ownership of the glass art
piece at the conclusion of the exhibit. Contact Kristin Mangham at 501-262-9615
for more information.
