New date for Trail Watch in Hot Springs

Due to the forecast of inclement weather, the Hot Springs Parks and Recreation Department postponed the launch of Trail Watch until 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 11 at the Farmer’s Market Pavilion, 121 Orange Street.  The launch was originally scheduled for May 4.

A volunteer-based program, Trail Watch is designed to provide and model proper trail etiquette and safety, to assist users in trail navigation, and to provide an official city presence on the Hot Springs Creek Greenway Trail.

Volunteers will be equipped with maps, basic first aid kits, and tools to assist with minor bicycle repairs.  Parks and Recreation will supply bikes, helmets, gloves, lights, tire repair and first aid kits, maps, fanny packs, high visibility safety vests and emergency contact numbers.  Volunteers will supply a cell phone and an end-of-shift report.
