Although
Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing didn’t find a single jackpot winner anywhere
in America, it still generated some big prizes. There were two $2 Million
winning tickets and an additional 26 winners throughout the U.S. will each
collect a $1 Million prize. The winners of the $1 Million prize had each matched
all five white balls. The two savvy winners of $2 Million chose to spend an
extra $1 to purchase the Power Play option, which resulted in doubling their
winnings when they matched all five white balls. There were many other big wins
from the draw on May 15. 112 players won $10,000. An additional 10 players
wisely chose to purchase the $1 Power Play option, which resulted in their
quadrupling their winnings from $10,000 to $40,000 each.
Arkansas had
one of those Million dollar winners. A $1 Million ticket was purchased in
Arkansas at the Crossroads Express II on Booth Road in Searcy. We don’t yet
know the identity of that ticket holder; we are awaiting their appearance at one
of the four Arkansas Scholarship Claim Centers (Little Rock, Springdale,
Jonesboro and Camden).
The next
Powerball drawing will be on Saturday, May 18, at 9:59 p.m. CST. Saturday
night’s jackpot is an estimated $550 Million (the second largest jackpot in
Powerball history) and the cash value of the prize is estimated to be $350.1
Million.
All players
who purchased Powerball tickets at the Crossroads Express II in Searcy are urged
to check their numbers against the winning numbers to see if their ticket is the
winner. The winning numbers can be found at any Lottery retailer or at
myarkansaslottery.com.

The Natural State
Jackpot has been hit 12 times to date.

NSJ is similar to
Powerball, Mega Millions, and Decades of Dollars. Players choose five numbers
between one and 39 and can play the same numbers for up to 20 consecutive
draws. Each play costs $1.
Players matching two
numbers will win $1; three numbers win $7; four matching numbers win $300, and
all five numbers will win the jackpot, guaranteed to be worth at least $25,000.
Each night in which there is no big winner, an additional $5,000 is added to the

divided among all the jackpot prize winners. The odds of winning any prize are
one in nine, according to ASL officials.
