Eagle watching on Lake Ouachita

Lake Ouachita provides remarkable habitat for wintering bald eagles. Each year, juvenile and mature birds can be seen among the trees, along the shoreline, or flying high above the lake during barge tours. Join us for your chance to see these magnificent raptors up close and in the wild.

Barge tours will be offered each Wednesday and Saturday at 2 pm throughout February. During Eagle Watch Weekend, February 25th and 26th, two tours will be offered each day at 10 am and 2 pm. Tours last about 1 hour and 15 minutes and depart from the state park marina. Tickets may be purchased at the visitor center and are $9 for adults, $5 for kids 6-12 and free for those under 6. Reservations are required and space is limited. You will want to dress warmly and bring your camera and binoculars. Contact the park at (501) 767-9366 to make reservations. You may also contact Park Interpreter, Susan Adkins, by email at susan.adkins@arkansas.gov for more information.
