Dawna Natzke update

Another week has gone by and Lt. James "Corky" Martin of the Garland County Sheriff's Office says there is nothing to report at this time in the Dawna Natzke matter.

I have tried many other sources and no one will talk on the record. Off the record means all the officials will deny having told me this if asked. Off the record it should be no surprise to anyone that Kevin Duck, Ms. Natzke's boyfriend at the time of her disappearance, is the Garland County Sheriff's Department person of interest in Natzke's murder a few days before Christmas.

Duck has fled the Village and at the very least can be picked up for parole violation at this time. Family members have indicated Duck is in Louisiana where his mother has several relatives. Unofficially, the Garland County Sheriff's Department will not pursue Duck until they have enough forensic evidence or tangential witness testimony to convict him of Natzke's murder. Unofficially, they don't have either at this time.

I have been told repeatedly that this is not a television show and there will not be a neat and tidy immediate wrap up. We need someone like real-life forensic anthropologist and writer Kathy Reichs to come in and find the evidence on Natzke's remains. Reichs is the forensic anthropologist for whom the television show Bones is based. It is clear at this point we need more than what we have available

Right now things are looking very bleak for finding justice for Dawna Natzke. Her alleged murderer is walking around free as a bird.

Thankfully, a citizen group found her body giving Natzke's family some closure in this matter. At this point it doesn't look like they will ever get closure as far as a trial prosecuting Natzke's murderer is concerned.

Scott Randall, general manager of Hot Springs Village's POA, has been trying to get publicity for the Village since he got here a little over a year ago. It was at an impromptu party at his house Natzke was last seen alive. It is believed the Village police did not pursue this case by going public and asking for help immediately because Randall's name would be made public.

Randall has not helped matters any by being defensive and arrogant. The cover-up may have cost Natzke her life and at the very least let enough time go by to wash away and burn up vital forensic evidence to pursue an alleged killer.

The leadership of the Village has let everyone down but most sadly let down a former POA employee Dawna Natzke and her family and friends.

  1. Yes, Scott Randall certainly fulfilled his task of bringing publicity to the Village. However, I don't think this is the type of exposure the Village powers that be had in mind when Randall was hired.

I don't understand why this man still has his job!
