Two openings for city residents on the Airport Advisory Committee. This committee assists the Airport Manager and City Manager in the development and review of airport operating policies and procedures. Meetings are held on the third Thursday of the month at 4 p.m.
One opening on the Historic District Commission which oversees historic district rules and regulations. One opening may, but is not required to be, an owner of real property within the Pleasant Street Historic District. Meetings are held on the third Thursday of the month at 8:30 a.m.
One opening for residents of Board District #2 to serve on the Community Development Advisory Committee. The committee evaluates and establishes operating policies and procedures for CDBG Entitlement Program. Meetings are held the first Thursday of the month, 1 p.m.
Six openings for city residents on the Arts Advisory Committee, whose responsibilities are to review and recommend placement of permanent art at publicly-owned facilities in the city; to assist in the organization and promotion of temporary art exhibits at publicly-owned facilities; and to assist in the securing of private grant funding and art donations for permanent art displays at public buildings in the city. Meetings are held in the Board Chambers, City Hall, on an as-needed basis.
Two openings for city residents on the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee. This committee provides guidance and oversight in the City’s parks and recreation programming, planning and policy development. Meetings are held the third Thursday of the month at 5 p.m.
One opening for a city resident on the Towing Service Advisory Committee. This committee assists in the administration of the towing ordinance, as well as the hearing of complaints or revocations, and to consider ordinance revisions. This committee meets as needed.
Eight openings on the Construction Trades Advisory Committee. The committee consists of nine members who review and recommend changes, revisions and modifications to the Hot Springs mechanical, building, electrical and plumbing codes for consideration by the Board of Directors. The requirements are as follows:
Position 1 - Carpenter or building contractor
Position 3 - Master or journeyman plumber
Position 4 - Master or journeyman plumber
Position 5 - Mechanical engineer, sheet metal worker, or class "a" or "b" mechanical contractor
Position 6 - Mechanical engineer, sheet metal worker, or class "a" or "b" mechanical contractor
Position 7 - Master or journeyman electrician
Position 8 - Master or journeyman electrician
Position 9 - Citizen at-large not meeting any of the qualifications for positions one through eight
