A section of Dry Branch Road (Road 31400), three miles west of Blue Springs and ¼ mile north of Road 31000, is closed for construction of a new bridge. The old bridge will be demolished and a new bridge built in its place.
“Contractors began work on the bridge on January 9, and the road will be unavailable for any use for approximately three months,” said Jessieville-Winona-Fourche District Ranger Megan Moynihan. “We regret the inconvenience this may cause residents in the area, but the safety of the public and our employees is our priority.”
Local school and emergency services personnel have been notified of the closure so they can plan to travel the alternate routes. From Highway 7, forest users can take Little Blakely Creek Road west, then take Tramway Road (Road 31000) northwest until the intersection with Dry Branch Road (Road 31400).
