days ago Congress passed health care legislation, the Patient Protection and
Affordable Care Act, signed by President Obama. The legislation was examined by
the US Supreme Court at the request of 26 states arguing Congress exceeded its
power in passing the law, which compels people to buy a product.
The
Court reviewed four questions:
Was
it within Congress’ constitutional powers to impose an individual mandate to
purchase health insurance?
Would
all or any additional parts of the law be struck down if the mandate is
rejected?
Was
the expansion of Medicaid unduly coercive on the states?
And,
could all these questions be reviewed before the mandate takes effect?
The
individual mandate issue under the commerce clause argument was rejected by the
Court, but the Court ruled Congress has the power to impose the mandate because
it can be considered a tax.
The
Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act was upheld by the US Supreme Court
in a 5-4 decision. Headlines say the Supreme Court backs all parts of President
Obama’s signature health care law.

This TAX needs to be REPEALED. WE need a CHANGE in 2012 in the presidential race & in the Senate.
This is a great day for America. Every negative thing that has been said against Obamacare over the last couple of years was also said about Medicare during that debate in the 60's. This is MORE progress, finally. Free market healthcare does NOT work. The USA has proven that irrevocably. Healthcare is not a CHOICE that can be postponed or shopped around. If my car is giving me trouble I can CHOOSE to live with it another year or two or three. If I have a heart attack, I have to obtain healthcare or likely DIE. Oh, maybe there is a choice after all !!!

For those that love it or think that America is not about CHOICE then why live here? Go to Canada or Europe where socialized medicine is ongoing.
Stand in their lines for medical attention.
As an AMERICAN I do not want SOCIALISM, I like FREEDOM OF CHOICE. I am adult enough to make that decision, do not need BIG DADDY OBAMA or Mommy Pelosi to make that decision for me.
This is AMERICA where we have a right to VOTE in TAXES, not have them put upon us with LIES in order to move the SOCIALIST way of life.
Again the Democrats LIED...This is a TAX. It needs to be repealed...Change in 2012, Republican majority across the board.
