Make plans to participate in Tri-the-Village, Hot Springs Village’s 1st
sprint triathlon, which will be held June 9. The race will begin at 7 a.m.
Participants should arrive between 5:45 – 6:15 a.m. The race will conclude at
Balboa Pavilion and will include an after party from 10:30 a.m. to 12 pm.
Balboa Pavilion will be closed from 3 p.m. on June 8 to 2 p.m. on June 9. Balboa Boat Ramp will also be closed and boats will not
be allowed in the 500-yard triathlon sectioned-off area from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m.
The following is a list of streets and intersections that may be affected
for a 10-15 minute time frame from 7:30 - 10:30 a.m.:

Ponce and Magellan Golf Course entrance
Ponce and Magellan Dr.
Ponce and Promesa Dr.
Ponce and Desoto Boulevard
Ponce and golf cart path
Ponce and Sergio
Ponce and golf course
Andora and Encantado
Andora and Ollette
Andora and Sacedon Ln
Sacedon Ln and Sacedon Way
Sacedon Ln and Balboa Drive
Balboa and Letpista Dr
Balboa and Letisa Dr
Balboa and Jubileo Way
Balearic and Balboa
Balboa and Balearic
Balearic and golf cart path
Balearic and Pineretero Way
Balboa Dr and Balboa Way
Balboa and Pinocha Dr
Balearic and Lavantrino Dr

Ponce and Pavilion Drive
Portions
of Ponce de Leon Dr. and Magellan Drive may also be affected for a 10-15
minute time frame. Although closures may be brief, no time frame has been given by the POA as to when the areas will be closed.
Triathlon participants will be on the right side of
the road and volunteers and police will be stationed along the race route to
help direct all traffic to ensure everyone’s safety.
Residents near
the Magellan Golf Course need to be aware that traffic may be slow in that
area.Golfers with tee times at Coronado, Balboa and Ponce Golf Courses on
June 9 between 7:30 – 10:30 a.m. should
allow extra time to arrive at the

I sure hope all this hoopla brings some revenue to the village. Seems we're spending a lot on making it happen.
