A free
Business Seminar will be hosted by the Benton Area Chamber of
Commerce at Northside Church of Christ. Various seminars will be held
throughout the morning, and the two hours after lunch will provide an
opportunity for you to visit one-on-one with the morning presenters as well as a
few other authorities on certain topics relevant to your business.
The first topic for the day will include “Marketing Techniques for Small Businesses” and will be presented by the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center. To be included will be how to create a marketing plan, low-cost marketing tools, image development, and social media. Secondly, Little Rock attorney Steve Schulte will present up-to-date information on the ever-changing world of employment law. From wage regulations and payroll taxes to navigating the often-confusing channels of contract labor will be discussed. He also will speak to the topic of Human Resources from what legally can and cannot be asked in an interview to how to handle an allegation of sexual harassment. Also present will be Saline Courier Manager Terri Leifeste to share ad-writing guidelines, how to obtain media coverage, and tips on writing effective press releases.
