A Child is Missing worked for Garland County Sheriff's Office

"A Child Is Missing" program was utilized again this week in Garland County to locate a 12 year old boy who walked away from his house.

The child had been playing around his home when his mother realized he was missing. The Sheriff's office was contacted and an alert was sent out, through our "A Child Is Missing" program, in a ten mile radius around his home. Within minutes, several neighbors were assisting in the search. After approximately two hours, the child was found and returned safely to his parents.

A Child Is Missing (ACIM) is a Fort Lauderdale-based non-profit organization founded in 1997, was created because no community-based program existed for locating missing children, the disabled and elderly (often with Alzheimer's) during the crucial first hours of disappearance.
