Statement from Lt. James "Corky" Martin of the Garland County Sheriff's Department:
Yesterday
afternoon one of our employees, Cpl. Neil Parliament, was arrested by Federal
authorities.
Per policy,
and at the advice of the County Attorney, we do not discuss or disclose
personnel issues during an investigation, therefore we will not discuss, release
details of, answer questions or hold interviews relating to this matter. It is
our understanding, from media sources, that U.S. Attorney Connor Eldridge will
be holding a press release on this investigation in the near future.
Any
questions related to the allegations or charges should be directed to the
appropriate agency.
Until we can
receive further information on the details of his arrest, his employment status
will be suspended without pay.
