Sheriff Sanders asks that you use extreme caution and good judgement if are
planning on getting on Lake Hamilton over the next week or two, but particularly
over the next several days.
In addition to the large amount of debris
that has been washed down the main channel already, there is still an extremely
large amount that is coming out of the river and making its way into the lake.
This debris includes complete trees, logs, brush and silt. Although a
large amount of the debris is visible and on the surface, there is nearly twice
as much, in some spots, sitting about 3 inches to 1.5 feet underwater and is not
visible. This makes night-time activities on the lake even more dangerous.
If you are planning on getting on the lake, especially at night, please
be mindful of these visible and invisible hazards, and operate your vessel
appropriately to avoid damage or injury.
