Hot Springs dog bite incidents

Two separate dog bite incidents occurred on Saturday, June 8 within the city limits. The first incident occurred at approximately 6:45 a.m. when an 18-year-old male was walking up a hill in the Hollywood Avenue area. A stray black pit bull with a white chest approached the man from behind and bit him on the left arm and leg and then ran off.

The second attack occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m. in a West St. Louis Street neighborhood. A stray dog, identified as a white pit bull mix with tan and black spots, came into a yard where an 8-year-old girl was playing. She was bitten on the right bottom jaw and lip. A relative hit the dog with a pole and it ran off.

Both areas will be patrolled for the next 10 days in an attempt to locate and secure both animals. Anyone seeing dogs matching their description should contact Hot Springs Animal Services, 501-262-2091.
