The City of Hot Springs’ new portable radar speed sign is stationed throughout
this week on Summer Street, north of Rector Street. The speed limit for this
area is 30 miles per hour.
Studies show that
motorists will reduce their speed 80 percent of the time when encountering a
radar sign that is posting their current driving speed. The sign is intended to
increase public awareness and reduce police patrol time spent operating radar
equipment.
