Downtown Hot Springs hotel to undergo fire protection repairs

Due to the recent failure of the underground fire protection main that services the standpipe in the Springs Hotel & Spa, 135 Central Avenue, occupancy at the hotel is currently limited to the third and fourth floors until repairs are complete.

The main failed during routine hydrostatic testing of the system conducted by the property owner’s fire protection contractor earlier this week, and will require excavation to repair.  Parts are expected to arrive tomorrow and repairs to be completed this weekend, followed by the resumption of hydrostatic testing.
