Candidate forum

A public forum for the Property Owners’ Association Board candidates will be held from 2:30 to 4 p.m. March 6 at the Coronado Community Center.

The forum is designed to inform property owners about the candidates before the election. Each candidate will have the opportunity to introduce himself and present his qualifications and philosophies. Following the introductions, the moderator will address questions to the candidates in no particular order.

John Chapman, KVRE radio host, will serve as moderator for the event, which is hosted by the radio station with the support of the Friends of the Village.

The POA will mail ballots to property owners in good standing March 8. Completed ballots must be received by the POA no later than 4 p.m. on March 27. Newly elected board members will be seated at the April 17 regular board meeting.

Too bad no one with a job can attend this forum.

  1. The website says the forum can be viewed online.

It's more important than ever to vote for directors who are not self-serving, have crazy agendas or manipulated by an external entity. Oh my, that may eliminate most the candidates.

Hope that folks know enough not to vote for Jeff Atkins. We all learned during his previous terms that he used the position to change rules and work agendas to benefit himself and his Golf Lots business. It was interesting that he chose to call "conflict of interest" after the KVRE candidate. It is a huge conflict of interest for him to be on the board. In the past he has voted against things that were in the best interest of the POA to protect his interest.
