Daffodil Days are in full swing, over 11,000 hyacinths are at their peak,
thousands of pansies in a rainbow of colors are surrounding the Great Lawn,
while our hardy camellias are still blooming profusely. Can Tulip Extravaganza
be far behind? The answer is yes, Tulip Extravaganza is coming! But Mother
Nature still needs to give us some warmer temperatures for our 130,000 bulbs to
reach their peak.
We receive about a hundred calls every day asking the
same question, "When will the Tulips be at their peak bloom?" While it's
impossible to predict Mother Nature, it IS possible to "picture" what she is
doing in the Gardens. So, visit our Facebook page for a daily weekday update. Our marketing
director was needing to get more exercise anyway, so she's out in the Gardens
every morning with her trusty Canon EOS. We'll keep it interesting and picture a
different area each day. Trust us, we'll let you know when the tulips are
showing off!
Don't forget, Free Saturday Docent Tours are back. They
begin at 10 a.m. and there's no extra charge. Just come as a member or pay
regular admission if you're not a member.
