The City of Hot Springs stationed its new portable radar speed sign on
Airport Road, west of Hot Springs Memorial Field, throughout this week. The speed limit for this area is 45 miles per hour.
Studies show that
motorists will reduce their speed 80 percent of the time when encountering a
radar sign that is posting their current driving speed. The sign is intended to
increase public awareness and reduce police patrol time spent operating radar
equipment.
